primavera and excel

My friends

1) What is the meaning of estimate resources at primavera and what is differences between resources at start of project and estimation of resources as the project going on?
2) how I can monitor progress of project using only primavera without exports data to another software ( excel ) is there any way in primavera to find progress at specific period as was planning not as actual performed
