Question Earned Value in High Performance/Compressed Timeframe Projects

Following up on Mark's What's the biggest gap in the toolset? topic, I was wondering if anyone had a better solution to the time sheet processing "problem" for calculating/analyzing earned value in near real time during high performance projects (where progress/schedule updates occur twice a day/every shift).

Currently, we save our earned progress info and produce the earned value data whenever the actual hours become available (usually 24-48 hours later).
