Please Help with IT Project Manager Interview Presentation Working in a PMO in an organisation which has ?immature? Programme/Project Management ? present five things you would/wouldn?t do if you were to be appointed to the role. Any suggestions? I?m finding it quite vague. Do you think it means 5 things to improve the PMO? Or just general things I would do if I got the role? I don?t get it really! It must be relating to project management skills somehow? |

To develop/to strenth/to revise: - Formal methodology - Tools & templates - Roles & Responsibility matrixes - Communication methods - PM software but, if you do not have ideas now, it might be very difficult to prove/implement ideas of someone. good luck |

Thanks for the help. I do have ideas i just think that it's difficult to say i would try to change this and that as the PMO manager is responsible for the strategic vision of the department and i would be responsible for the tactical/operational activities on projects. I was actually thinking along the lines of 1. Gain full understanding of departmental and organisational objectives and strategies 2. Learn about the current systems, processes, tools, standards and policies 3. Ensure efficient use of resources by kowning the people available, the funding sources and levels, and what equipment/facilities are available 4. Use my skills and knowledge to help enhance communication, problem solving, leadership and seek to improve on my knowldge through training and working with other PMs Not sure about things i wouldn't do? |
