Default Microsoft Project Server or similar tool?

Does anyone have any experience with MS Project Server (or similar tool)? I am trying to give our managers and engineers access to the project schedules without installing MS Project on their machines (and most don't have window-based machines anyway). I am also starting to integrate several projects together and perform the resource leveling against a common resource pool. It seems logical to put all of these files on a sever-based tool instead of keeping everything on my local PC. Are there any good resources that I can read reviews or other tools that will help solve this problem?

Thanks in advance for any opinions and help.

You might try sending Harry a private message. I think he has some experience with MS Project Server.

Does anyone have any further experience on this?

I am looking for a tool that does Resource Management. We have an instance of what used to be Niku that we can piggyback on but it resides overseas and that causes its own set of issues.

Does anyone have good experience (or bad!) with MS Project Server.

Has anyone heard of enterprise-level externally hosted web-based toolsets? I don't think I need to install a server and software; I'd just like to use it and keep the software maintenance somewhere else.

I have experience with Microsoft Project Server 2003 and 2007. If you are looking for help or an overview, try this link:

There are a few organzations that offer hosting for Microsoft Project Server. I have worked with this one:

If you have more specific questions, simply post them. I can probably answer them!!

you can try out valleyspeak MPP viewer.

ValleySpeak project server is a centralized MPP Viewer that enables viewing and sharing of Microsoft Project schedules with team members in real time without investing in expensive multiple Microsoft Project licenses.
