Should I share actual timeline with team

I have inherited a project and have to submit the project timeline and closure dates. I have made the project plan, gantt chat etc - padded it and have all the milestones identified. I will have a team of 10 I.T guys working on the project.

My question is do I need to share the actual project dates with the team members or can I show another plan with the dates for each milestone slightly closer from the actual milestone date. I am worried if I show the team actual date of milestone that may be 8 weeks from now then they may get relaxed however if I tell them 4 or 6 weeks then I will have the cusion and I can use that lag for the project benefit.
