What do you mean by weight factor? What are you trying to accomplish/measure?

Firstly I would like to thank you
I work now in pipe line project and the primavera plan was completed by others and my responsibility is to calculate progress for different discipline / pipe line , civil , …… etc
And the clients send to my company his weight factor for each discipline but the problem is if you find budget quantity (resources – man-hours) for every section and divided by total budget the weight is different from client weight factor .
Now I need to know how I can find progress for overall construction using primavera and retain client’s weight factor?

The question in simple word I want to know how I can get progress through primavera and what is the procedure that primavera used to calculate progress.

I tray this method it is right or no?

Then I choose resources
I need to know more information about resources and calculate progress in primavera

best regards

I always advocate measuring progress in terms of manhours, but you said it doesn't match what the client had specified. You will need to ask the client how they calculated their weight factor then (or just tell them where they are in terms of manhours which is, I think, an industry standard for measurement, no?).
